PART 3
After our seminar was over, we had some time to explore the hotel as well as check out some booths and register for sessions for Friday and Saturday. We also had a reunion with Harsha, our past yearbook member, which made Liza all hyper and happy. After meeting Harsha, we were also looking forward to meeting Katie, also a past 2013-2014 yearbook member. We were all excited about how the previous yearbook members were going to reunite with each other in DC.
As 7 p.m. was getting closer, the whole group went together to find a seat at the front for the Bob Woodward keynote. As we sat on the seats, we were all curious about who Bob Woodward was because Mr. Smalley kept on repeating about how Bob Woodward was the "Michael Jordan" of journalism. The keynote was supposed to to start at 7, but somehow the actual keynote began at 7:45. Due all the flights and the time difference, we were dead tired. We were so tired that Liza fell asleep on the floor while others were dozing off on the chairs while waiting for him. We also got mad as time passed. So by the time the actual keynote began, we were all so tired that we either had to try our best to stay awake or we just fell asleep. However, we still heard some interesting facts from him, especially about the Watergate incident, and got many other tips.
After the keynote was over, we went back to our rooms went to sleep. However, we had to wake up again somewhere around mid-night to collect our returned luggage, but we were too tired to get excited or unpack the luggage. Even though the day for us was tough, we managed to survive and get our luggage back. Our first day at the convention has ended and we are looking forward toward the other days.

One important question will forever stick with me from the wait from a very tired Nastya: Where is Bob? No. Seriously. Where is Bob?
ReplyDeleteI lied. A second comment from Nastya based on the hour and a half of repeating Vines: Mrs. L, are they trying to brainwash us with these Vines? We are the media. We know what "MEDIA IS..." Make it stop!
