DAY 3: NEW CONTINENT NEW BEGININGS

The third day of exploring and excitement

Snap! A loud sound emanates though the hotel room that, oddly enough, didn't shock me like the other times this occurred. I didn't know whether it actually happened or not, but I was awake. Ildar and Yash were already up and discussing about some topic and laughed at my typical confusion. All of us got ready and went about our own businesses. Then it hit me, I was in Washington D.C! Well I already knew I was here, but only at that one moment I realized the full extent of where I was.
This feeling of being overwhelmed persisted in me for a while, about 10 minutes, yet the feeling was amazing! It was my dream to visit this country and this city since I was about seven and knowing that my dream is coming true filled me with joy. When all this happened, I was standing in the computer area and a huge smile appeared on my face and everyone that went by stared at me, like I was some weirdo.
Well, now that I passed my emotional moment, I can start to make this entry a bit more fun. To start out, everyone is very BUSY. It is crazy how we all have lectures upon lectures each hour but it is good for us. All of us will know something interesting by the end of the day and so its ok that we have to deal with all of this. Tons of other events have also occurred (I wrote this at about 10AM so a few events occurred) like swap shops and the breakfast with Scott and Tami (which I didn't attend because I already ate). The morning was filled with new encounters. I, for example, met about 10 new friends in about 2 hours. I even met a person who went to AIS a couple years ago and felt very happy that at least someone was in Kazakhstan. The first two of the sessions did not relate to newspaper and didn't help a lot. Yet these sessions helped me learn new skills which I might use later.
