Day 5: This Is It: The Final Day of Our JEA/NSPA Convention!

This was the day all of us were eagerly waiting for, it was the 'Awards Ceremony' day! With curiosity controlling our minds today, we got dressed-up well and swiftly headed towards the Grand Ball room after a filling breakfast. There was a sight of immense excitement in each one of our eyes and why not be excited, for the two most talented Editor-In-Chiefs of our Yearbook, were expecting their Write-Off's results. As the event proceeded, we could hear different groups around us cheering for their respective Yearbook members, but us, we were sitting their in silence and in hope. Unfortunately, we didn't manage to bag any award for our Yearbook, our school and lastly for ourselves. At that moment, i'm pretty much sure, every one of us, was feeling disappointed, not because of the Editor-In-Chiefs, they tried their level best to make us proud at all times, but, from ourselves, that we as a team or as individuals couldn't achieve anything. One person, who was definitely, sad and in anger was Mr. Smalley. Despite his best efforts, we just couldn't make it to the 'list of awardees'. But, calmly reacting to that disappointment, Mr. Smalley led us out of the room with a great smile. Although, we were dead ashamed of ourselves, atleast I was, we walked out of that room with the urge to do well at the next convention, and regardless of anything, make our Yearbook better and just better in the coming days, weeks, months, years.....
